The 2024 National Check Professional (NCP) exam window has begun and continues through May 11. ECCHO, the sponsor of this certification program, has announced that the program broke a record by registering 307 candidates for this 2024 exam cycle. Because of this historic number of candidates, new in 2024, they are providing a re-test offering for those who are unable to pass the exam on their first attempt.
There are specific requirements that must be met to qualify for this one-time re-test option:
- To be eligible to re-test, candidates’ first exam attempt must occur between April 20 – May 7 as no candidate will be allowed to test or re-test beyond May 11th.
- Candidates who fail their first exam attempt must notify ECCHO of their intent to retest, no later than the next business day by 1pm ET. Re-test notification requests should be sent to Nicole Williams at nicole.hanlin@theclearinghouse.org or (214) 273-3200. Additionally, candidates who wish to re-test must pay a re-test exam seat fee of $100.
- Once a candidate notifies ECCHO of their intent to re-test and ECCHO confirms their request, the candidate will have 3 calendar days to schedule and re-test. For example, if a candidate’s first attempt is on a Thursday, they must notify ECCHO of their intent to re-test no later than the next business day (i.e., Friday) by 1pm ET. Then, the candidate will need to schedule an appointment and re-test over the next three calendar days (i.e., Saturday through Monday). If a candidate’s first attempt is on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, they must notify ECCHO of their intent to re-test no later than the next business day (i.e., Monday) by 1pm ET. Then, the candidate will need to schedule an appointment and re-test over the next three calendar days (i.e., Tuesday through Thursday).
- Availability to re-test is not guaranteed. In most cases, candidates who re-test will be limited to OnVUE delivery. For OnVUE delivery, assuming availability, candidates can schedule an appointment and re-test on the same day.
