Economic Impact Payments

  • Economic Impact Payment checks issued by the Department of the Treasury can be verified at Treasury and the Secret Service have launched a "Know Your U.S. Treasury Check" Campaign to protect against fraud. The first line of the memo in the lower left of the check will read "Economic Impact Payment." The second line will bear the President's name.

Please do not respond to calls, emails, or other communications claiming to be from the treasury department and offering:

  • COVID-19 related grants or stimulus payments in exchange for personal financial information,
  • an advance fee,
  • a charge of any kind, or
  • the purchase of gift cards,
Contact the FBI at so that the scammers can be tracked and stopped.
